A Cold Heineken Beer…

On the night of June 30th, 1863, Gerard Adriaan Heineken wrote a letter to his mother about a brewery in Amsterdam, called the Haystack, he was planning to buy. He was able to purchase the Haystack for a reasonable price, because at the time, the Dutch brewing industry was in a serious decline. Thankfully for us he succeeded, and a cold Heineken beer, with its iconic green bottle, bright red star and smiling ‘e’ is easy to recognize.
